This week's TWD recipe was chosen by Heather of Sherry Trifle, who should post the recipe sometime today. You can also find it on page 212 of Dorie's book.
I had never made gingerbread before--I am not a huge fan of molasses, and I think that's why I didn't love this recipe. I must say the icing is amazing! I used an 8x11-inch pan, and the batter fit perfectly.
Liz's Rating: 7.5/10 (9.5/10 for the icing)

So sorry that you didn't care for the recipe too much - still looks fabulous!! :-)
I'm not a huge gingerbread fan either but the chocolate frosting and the bits mixed into batter balanced it out for me. Your cake looks great and I agree, the frosting was delicious!!
I thought the icing was fabulous, too. I am not a huge gingerbread fan, either, but did find this to be tasty.
Sorry this wasn't your favorite at least next week is world peace cookies. they are the BEST!
Fresh ginger and chocolate sounds divine.
Your glaze look so delicious.
Cheers,
Elra
Well, at least you tried it. It does look wonderful, though. And you're right...the frosting was mighty good.
Your cake looks great. Too bad you didn't like the way it tasted--I subbed golden syrup for the molasses and it was wonderful.
Sorry that you didn't care for is...your cake looks great, though! I agree, the icing was FABULOUS!
I agree that the frosting for this cake is out of this world! Great job. :)
I am not a fan of gingerbread myself so I skipped this weeks and made a chocolate cake instead. Your cake came looks great.
The icing really is SO amazing! I hope it made it worth making the cake, even though you weren't much of a fan!
I agree that the icing was great! I didn't like the chocolate with the cake at all, though.
