I had never made gingerbread before--I am not a huge fan of molasses, and I think that's why I didn't love this recipe. I must say the icing is amazing! I used an 8x11-inch pan, and the batter fit perfectly.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge gingerbread fan either but the chocolate frosting and the bits mixed into batter balanced it out for me. Your cake looks great and I agree, the frosting was delicious!!

Well, at least you tried it. It does look wonderful, though. And you're right...the frosting was mighty good.
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks great. Too bad you didn't like the way it tasted--I subbed golden syrup for the molasses and it was wonderful.
